In a collection of hardwood bowls and boxes, this piece stands out as it marks the Debut of Cedar, a lightweight and aromatic softwood. Cut, planed and laminated, several thick boards come together to create this large box. In this piece, Cedar displays its classic red tones while also showing us its lighter side. Each board exhibits a lovely gradation from dark to light and when stacked and oiled, the effect is quite striping! Intuitively cut on the band saw, this box is a gem with both rough and polished edges. Finished in a food safe Danish oil by Tried & True, this box can hold any of your edible dry goods but it can also keep a lid on the family jewels!
